Stay the course, reset the course, or scuttle the ship?
After two months of playing some of the best baseball in the majors, the Astros have hit the inevitable bump in the road. The team has sprinkled more consistent losing in with less consistent offense and pitching and thrown in Luis Valbuena heading to the DL into the mix. Their call ups have taken turns not…

Will July 25, 2016 be THE Day in Astros history?
Astros’ fans have waited a long time for THE season to occur. In 1980, their team blew late leads to the Phillies in two straight extra inning losses to miss their first shot at the World Series. In 1986, they blew a 3 run ninth inning lead and lost a classic 16 inning heart breaker…

Is Carlos Correa a victim of Charles Dickens?
That title has to be a head scratcher, until you realize that Charles Dickens wrote “Great Expectations”. There has been talk about Carlos Correa’s sophomore year being a disappointment. What they said, what they meant: ASG Edition
It has been a while since we played WTSWTM. The goal of this exercise is to take an Astros related quote and interpret it by stating what the player, coach, etc. really meant. One change is that quotes will no longer be taken from chron.com (spit!!), since chron.com (spit!!) wants to be paid for what…

All Star break: Handing out Astros’ awards
It has been a crazy down and then up first half for the 2016 Houston Astros. Looking back at the first half – here are the awards for various categories and a runner-up certificate too. Rookie of the Year. Michael Feliz. For about 10 days this looked like a sure-fire award for Tyler White. But in the…

Can the Astros just skip the All Star break?
Perhaps that question above has a definite NO answer for the two certain All-Stars (Jose Altuve and Will Harris) and the one potential addition to the game (George Springer). They all want to stop and enjoy the national acclaim of playing with the best of the best. And truth to tell, I am sure that most of…
