End of the season: Thoughts on the Astros
My family moved to Houston before the 1966 season, so this is my 57th season as a fan. Even though I’ve “seen it all”, I really haven’t as each season is its own epic drama. There is a lot to chew on as the team has their regular season finale this afternoon against the Phillies.

Astros fly into the playoffs
Some of the younger Astro fans are probably yawning as the Astros clinched a playoff spot on Friday with 17 games left to go and then Monday clinched their fifth AL West title in six seasons with 14 games to go in the season. Ho-hum, playoff-clinching is so mundane and expected.
